Positiv:
– If you eat too much, you will get sick. short: If you eat too much, you’ll get sick.
– If you sit in the sun, you will get burned. short: If you sit in the sun, you’ll get burned.
– You will get burned if you continue to sit in the sun.
– You will have to reboot your computer, if you stop the loading process now.
Negativ:
– If you sit in the shade, you won’t get burned.
– You won’t get another chance, if you leave the meeting now.
– You will have to wait in the cue, if you don’t have a premium ticket.
Frage:
– Will I have a chance to talk to him, if I call him tomorrow?
– Won’t they be sad, if I leave tomorrow?
Note: You may sometimes find: If I were you … or: If I was you … (which has become popular recently). You can use both. However, most North Americans tend to use “If I were you …” which is also grammatically better.
